Hernandez ruled out for upto a month due to ankle injury
Javier Hernandez will not be able to play for the next month following an injury he picked up during Manchester United’s 1 – 0 victory against Aston Villa.
The Mexican was one of three players that had to leave the pitch in the game, with two players from the Villa squad also geting injured.
It is believed that the forward has torn ligaments in his ankle and will be required to wear an ankle support for a few weeks, after getting his foot caught in the pitch at Villa Park early on in the match.
Hernandez’s injury leaves the United team severely exhausted. With Hernandez joining other forwards Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov in being off the pitch, the team looks like they are struggling up front and midfielders Anderson and Tom Cleverley are also still unable to play.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told the BBC: “We’re having a bad time with injuries at present – it’s just as well we’ve a strong squad.”
